Healing Touch is an energy (biofield) therapy comprised of a group of
standardized, non-invasive techniques that utilize the hands to clear,
energize, and balance the human energy fields.
Healing Touch includes both touch and non-touch (above body) energy
balancing techniques which affect physical, emotional, mental, and
spiritual aspects of the self.
Healing Touch was developed by Janet Mentgen, BSN, RN in 1989. It is a
continuing education program endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses
Association. Health care and professional and lay persons are trained
and certified by:

re-alignment of the energy flow, which reawakens the client's self healing
abilities on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.
Healing Touch operates within a broad universal concept of spirituality
rather than promoting a particular spiritual practice, and it respects each
person's individual spiritual beliefs.
Healing Touch is often used as a complement to health-care provided by
physicians, psychotherapists, and other health care providers.
While a full understanding of how the energy balancing occurs is not yet
realized, there is a growing body of research that demonstrates the
effectiveness of Healing Touch.
